Hearing aids are available in four styles, each having different advantages depending on the severity of the hearing loss and the individual needs of the person wearing the hearing aids.

BEHIND THE EAR (BTE)The components of these hearing aids fit in a small case worn behind the ear which is connected to a custom fit ear mold. |

IN THE EAR (ITE):These hearing aids are custom made to fit entirely in the outer portion of the ear. |

IN THE CANAL (ITC):These hearing aids are smaller than the ITE and fit mostly in the ear canal. |

COMPLETELY IN THE CANAL (CIC):These are the smallest style hearing aids and are custom made to fit entirely in the ear canal. |

RECEIVER IN THE EAR (RIC)This style of hearing aid has a very small case that sits behind the ear. From the case behind the ear there is a very thin wire that goes down to the receiver (speaker) that is placed in the ear canal. |
DIGITAL HEARING AIDS:
These hearing aids provide the most advanced technology and are available in all four of the hearing aid styles. Digital hearing aids offer superior sound, precision fitting, and the flexibility to adjust the hearing aid to meet each individual’s unique needs.
